Actually, Windows 10X should already have been completed so that the first devices can appear in the spring. It looks like Microsoft pushed the schedule back a bit.
As Zac Bowden learned from his sources, you want to make sure everything is working properly. Windows 10X should be finished in late spring so that the first PCs can come onto the market in the second half of the year. These first low-cost devices will initially only appear for companies and educational institutions. So no devices for the "normal" consumer. Win32 support will also still be missing in the first version of Windows 10X.
For the Win32 support, the Windows Virtual Desktop and Cloud PC will primarily be pushed for companies. But support for the Win32 programs will come later.
Microsoft itself is initially concentrating on the new Sun Valley design, which will bring changes not only in Windows 10X but also in the upcoming Windows 10 21H2. Some changes have already been made here in the current Insider, but the development is not yet complete.
It's okay that the Redmonders take their time. Unlike Google Chrome OS, they certainly won't stir up the market with Windows 10X. Let's see how it will go on, and then also with the Surface Neo. It has become very, very quiet lately.
