Experts see Verizon’s recent announcement of a new partnership with Microsoft and Nokia as a way to create a unified platform that companies can use to build their own edge environments.
The partnership will enable Verizon to natively integrate Microsoft Azure Cloud on its 5G edge networking platform, while Nokia and Nokia will provide private 5G in regions where its public networking presence is not available, such as in Europe or Asia Pacific. Verizon has already partnered with other major edge technology companies such as AWS and IBM.
