Windows 10 Start Menu Height and Search Box Height Preview Have Been Separated

Up to Windows 10 21H1, the altitude search is opened as far as it is set in the start menu. So high start menu = high window for the search results. Microsoft has now separated this in the new preview (*).

No matter how high you set the start menu, the search window now has a fixed size that cannot currently be changed. having said this, now you have the option to adjust the "Start Menu" vertically as well as horizontally. It's not just the height you can adjust, the width of the Start menu also can be adjusted. The height and width shown in the below image is the maximum that can be adjusted.

However, as mentioned above, the size of the Search Window is of fixed size and can not be changed at this moment. Maybe it will come too, or via regtweak. It's already a step forward, although the rigid size annoys me a bit at the moment. Microsoft has surely rebuilt this so because if the height of the start menu was set to the lowest value, a part of the search window below was always cut off.

For example, the recommendations for the new Edge would not be displayed. As it was just displayed on my computer. Since I made the start menu very small, I didn't even notice it.

Let's be surprised if Microsoft backports this change. It is possible. Directly as a server update, as you can check in the search window at the top right using the "three dots", it will probably not come, because there I have the identical version number in Windows 10 21H1 and the Dev version.

Regarding the (*) in the first paragraph: I cannot put my hand on the fire that this change really came with the last preview. For this, I use or change the altitude too seldom.
