Detected several apps that would have infected hundreds of thousands of mobile phones of the Chinese firm.
Unfortunately, we have already gotten used to the fact that almost every month we hear about new cases of mobile phones that have been infected by a virus or malware. Cybercriminals, although they are very creative when it comes to raiding our phones, continue to use traditional methods to access the phones of their victims, since they know that we are still not very careful when it comes to protecting our data on them. This time the attack has been suffered by hundreds of thousands of Huawei mobile users, who have been overwhelmed by Joker, a malware that is already familiar to us.
An old acquaintance
This malware was already seen by Google Play a few months ago, where it also infected millions of mobile phones thanks to its integration into numerous apps in the Google store, where the malware had infiltrated. That attack was already neutralized at the time, but as you know, cybercriminals are usually quite insistent, and they try to stretch the malware as much as possible to be able to perpetrate as many attacks as possible with the same software. And now this same malware has infected hundreds of Huawei phones thanks to the fact that it has managed to enter the Chinese brand's app store.
By entering the Huawei store, this malware is infecting all those mobile phones of the brand with a malicious code that subscribes users to Premium services, the kind that cost an “eye to eye” without them being aware of it. The problem as always is that when we want to unsubscribe. The services to which this malware can subscribe are up to five for each user, although it is believed that this is a figure that is easily manipulated by hackers and that it can be altered on their part when necessary.
Basically, we are facing the same situation that Joker experienced in Google Play a few months ago, only now the target store is Huawei's AppGallery, which has gained hundreds of millions of users by being the reference store for these mobiles today. , not being able to have Google services and apps. At least we know that Huawei has already deleted all the apps from its store that had this malware, so the risk that this malware could attack us had to be eliminated from the root. But if we have any of these apps installed, we should delete them to reduce the risks:

In this list, you can see both the name of the app and its folder within the system. Since it is possible that although the app is installed, it has disappeared from the application drawer to hide itself. And therefore it is necessary to resort to looking for its folder in the file system to verify that it is still there, and if necessary, delete it.
