has released a new free program Photo Anonymizer, with which it is possible to remove metadata, GPS, or ADS information (alternative data streams) from one or more images.
It will certainly be of interest to those who often post pictures online that were taken, for example, with a cell phone or camera. Because these save a lot of data about the image, which can then always be called up. The application itself is very simple.
After you have installed the Photo Anonymizer, you can specify in the settings whether the additional text should be added. You can also activate a separate folder in which the changed images are then saved. Otherwise the original will be overwritten.
For the meta-data, you have additional settings, which data should be specifically removed or left. When using GPS-only or alternative data streams, the process starts immediately after selecting the images.
Perhaps in an updated version, there will also be a “Remove all” section. Because you have to chase the image or images three times through anonymization. A comparison with the function in File Explorer => right-click on the Properties Details image and remove properties and personal information there shows that the camera settings were still included here. With the Photo Anonymizer, these were also out.
So if you have to do with pictures more often, you can take a look at the little tool. Because pictures without information on the net are certainly better suited. No matter where you upload them.
