Microsoft has already adopted many of its own icons for the apps. With Windows 10 21H2 at the latest, the icons in the system and also the icon for the settings follow.
On Reddit, namhnz has now also created a concept for the view of the settings itself with icons that roughly correspond to the upcoming system icons. Of course, also with rounded corners. Looks really good, of course (my opinion). Here is the comparison concept / Windows 10 20H2.
Even if it looks chic, it certainly won't turn out that way. Because Microsoft uses (not only) the icons from a font in the settings. Currently the Segoe MDL2, in Windows 10 21H2 then Segoe Fluent. We had already reported about it here.
The advantage here is, of course, compared to the old system control, that the individual icons do not have to be loaded. Although this is actually not a problem with today's SSD and NVMe, Microsoft also saves space because these icons no longer have to be saved in the system.
The concept still looks chic, doesn't it?
A few days ago there was also a concept for the File Explorer. You can check it out here on Reddit.
