Briefly informed for the developers among you. Microsoft has made version 7.0 of the new Windows Community Toolkit available for download.
"This new update includes a completely new .NET Standard MVVM library, easier-to-use Toast Notification Helper for both .NET and UWP, a completely redesigned Composition Animation System for C # & XAML, new controls and much more."
The individual improvements are:
- New package structure and changes
- The MVVM Toolkit for .NET
- Improved notification support for Win32 and .NET 5
- Extensive animation tools
- TabbedCommandBar
- Improved ColorPicker
In a few weeks, we will be releasing an updated version of our WinUI 3 based controls in NuGet for Project Reunion 0.5. As part of this change, we will also start using a new package identity trunk from CommunityToolkit. * For our packages. Our existing UWP packages will be retained as Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp. *; however, our new packages for WinUI will be located under CommunityToolkit.WinUI. *.
Our plan will be to ditch the UWP packages at a time in the future when we feel that our community as a whole can migrate to WinUI 3 if it supports the features our existing UWP community knows and knows today loves. Until then, we plan to initially support our existing UWP developers through our existing packages
