Samsung Exynos processor |
Samsung has a unique Windows 10 laptop in its boxes. The machine is based on a new platform in the PC world. It is not signed by Intel or AMD. Its mechanics take advantage of a "house" Exynos processor.
Apple with its MacBook under the M1 processor seems to have given ideas to the competition. A report claims that Samsung is working on an offer based on its own processors. The environment is naturally not macOS but Windows 10.

Exynos processors are “in-house” solutions already known on the market. They power many mobile devices. The transition to the PC world would be done alongside an AMD graphics solution and the Windows 10 ecosystem. The processor in question would be an Exynos 2200 expected for the third quarter. Unfortunately, we have no further details about it at the moment.
Exynos - Wikipedia
Exynos is the name of several SoC series, based on the ARM architecture of the South Korean brand Samsung.
The oldest series to bear the official name Exynos is the Hummingbird S5PC110 (Exynos 3110, a Cortex A8 containing a PowerVR SGX540 GPU) which equips the first versions of the Wave smartphone (running under the operating system of Samsung Bada), then the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Tab tablet, both using Google's Android operating system.
However, it will officially bear the name only after the release of its successor, the Exynos 4210 (Cortex A9MP, dual-core, equipped with Mali-400 MP GPUs), notably equipping the Galaxy S II.
Exynos, Samsung takes inspiration from Apple
This adventure of switching to “homemade” chips was initiated by Apple. New MacBooks now use a custom ARM processor named M1.

Its mission is to guarantee top performance while optimizing battery life, a key criterion in the world of laptops. About him Johny Srouji, senior vice president of Hardware Technologies at Apple specifies
“There has never been a chip like M1, our revolutionary soC for the Mac. It builds on more than a decade of designing industry-leading chips for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It ushers in a whole new era for the Mac. When it comes to power, M1 has the world's fastest CPU core, the world's fastest iGPU graphics performance available in a personal computer all with incredible machine learning performance from the Apple Neural Engine. With this unique combination of outstanding performance, powerful functionality and incredible efficiency, M1 is by far the best chip we have ever created. ”
