Windows 10 - New progress bar without percentage when installing updates

Microsoft is testing a new view when installing updates, probably already for Windows 10 21H2. Yesterday the KB5001277 was made available for the Insider as an updated test, but a change was also incorporated.

If the update is installed, “Updates are being processed. x% completed. Do not turn off the computer". But quite simply “Updates are on the way so that everything continues to run smoothly. Keep your computer switched on and connected."

The gyro continues to turn, but you can no longer see the percentage display of where the installation is at the moment. But since the update installation is divided into four phases, you still know in which area the update is located.

But no matter what the progress bar looks like, the main thing is that the update goes through without any problems. As an addendum: Elder gave a good argument in the comments why the percentage display is not that useful. Because often the display stopped at 92, for example, for minutes and users thought that the update had hung up. The users then often have a "brutal" termination by restarting.

Although the update itself continued to be installed during this time and then jumped to 96% or even 100% after minutes.

Updates are on the way

The usual notice no longer appears: "Updates are being processed. X% completed. Do not turn off the computer." Instead, you can now or in the future read the following: "Updates are on the way so that everything continues to run smoothly. Keep your computer switched on and connected."

The top that rotates with the help of dots has been retained, the main change is - you can see from the new wording of the text - the lack of the percentage. This is of course not a world-shattering change, but it still sounds sensible. Because as mentioned: The percentage display was not really informative.
