My favorite feature of Hia is different from the works mentioned above, the fact that the app is completely free and does not even show any ads. Most other apps on this list ask you to pay a premium price or show ads. Hia does neither and therefore has the best user experience of all the caller ID apps I've tested. If you don't want to watch ads and still enjoy the full caller ID experience, then Hia is the app for you.

5. CallApp: Caller ID, Call Blocker & Call Recorder

CallApp is an all-purpose caller ID app that not only identifies unknown callers and blocks spam calls but also comes with the ability to record calls. The app allows for the recording of both incoming and outgoing calls and is a boon for users who want this feature. Of course, being a caller ID app, its main function is to identify unknown numbers, which, thankfully, does quite well. I have to say that spam call blocking here was not as good as some of the other apps on this list. However, it could just be that I was getting more spam calls when I was testing this particular app. One thing I don't like about this app is its battery consumption. In my test, the app consumed more battery and had drainage equal to the results I saw when using Truecaller. That being said, it is still a very good caller ID and call recording app and deserves a place in this list.

6. Mr. Number - Caller ID & Spam Protection

In addition to playing a fairly unique name, Mr. Number is a fairly good caller ID app that works. The app does a great job of identifying unknown numbers and blocking spam calls was also on par with some of the best apps on this list. One good thing about this app is that you can predefine the conditions that allow you to block calls from specific users, area coders, or even entire countries. This feature comes in handy for blocking international spam calls that are normally filtered through most caller ID apps. The app also brings all other common features, including the ability to search for unknown numbers, call blocking for specific numbers, and more. This is definitely a worthy Truecaller option and is worth checking out.

CallBlock is a simple call blocking app for iOS devices whose headlining feature is the ability to block spam calls.
