Mozilla has updated Thunderbird to version 78.9.0. Five vulnerabilities were closed, three of which were rated "High". So don't wait too long with the update. Here is the latest update for you Thunderbird 78.9.1.
Several problems have also been fixed. But there is also an unsolved problem. The fix contained in 78.8.1 for the error "New mail notifications were not displayed if there were unread messages from previous notifications" has been removed.

- Spaces after soft line breaks in messages that used quoted-printable and format = flowed were incorrectly encoded; Existing messages that were previously incorrectly coded may now be displayed with some words not separated by a space

- Sending a message that contained an anchor tag with an invalid data URI failed
- When switching tabs, the input focus was not transferred to the new tab.

- Address book: The import of VCards with non-ASCII characters failed
