Last year a low-end heatsink from the Thermalright brand, the TL-AX120, was launched, in which they bet on an inexpensive cooler. Now, this option is updated with the TA-120 EX.
The Thermalright TA-120 EX model differs from the previous one by a modification to the fan. The new model uses the C12 PRO-G fan with a more robust and industrial look. Basically, the fan is upgraded to a better and more durable one.
The fan is grayish in a color that has a maximum rotation speed of 1850 RPM for a static pressure of 2.1 mmAq and an airflow of 82 CFM. With this change, you gain in the amount of airflow and less pressure.
The rest of the features seem to stay the same with 5 heat pipes of 6 mm that distribute the heat to the entire aluminum surface and a total height of 154 mm, which should make this cooler compatible with most of the current boxes. The base is also copper, which helps the thermal performance. The noise level can reach 29.6 dBA.
Compatibility is assured for almost any socket from Intel and AMD, except for the Threadripper which has a larger socket size than the rest. With purchase, Thermalright offers free TF7 thermal paste.
Although it is not available in Europe at the moment, it can be seen in the Aliexpress store for about $ 60. We will keep you informed.
