The Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 can be seen on Geekbench, it is almost half as fast as the Apple M1

We can already know the performance of the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3, the new Qualcomm processor for laptops, and we already anticipate that it has nothing to do with respect to the Apple M1 after seeing the first performance tests of this SoC by the Geekbench benchmarking software.

Based on the scoring information, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 has an 8-core design clocked at 2.70 GHz, which translated into a single-core score of just 982 points, while for multi-core performance we are talking about 4918 points. For reference, we talked about it being up to 61 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8cx Gen2 in multicore performance, but if we want to compare it to the king of ARM performance, the Apple M1, Qualcomm's processor comes out badly.

To be exact, the Apple M1 offers a single-core performance of 1736 points (+ 76.7%), and a multi-core performance of 7311 points (+ 48.6%). This should come as no surprise, as Qualcomm employs ARM Cortex-A processors rather than designing its own cores. The test rig where the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 was found offered a 14-inch screen and there were two variants: one with 32GB of LPDDR4X RAM and one with 8GB LPDDR5.

It is clear that this processor is not that it has nothing to do with respect to Apple's silicon, but it will also have a difficult time standing out compared to conventional x86 processors due to its performance for very little energy it consumes since there are currently portable computers more powerful with up to 17 hours of autonomy.
