RX 6700 XT seen in 3DMark with 13% less powerful than RTX 3070

We have more information on the performance of the RX 6700 XT. A Chinese source reveals the performance of the graphics card in 3DMark.

Although the leak only focuses on the 3DMark results, a comparison with the RX 6800 can be made thanks to the analysis of Wccftech, which uses the same Ryzen 9 5900X CPU.

As we can see in the performance tests and comparing them with the results of other graphs, the Sapphire RX 6700 XT NITRO + is 52% slower than the RX 6800 XT and 13% slower than the RTX 3070.

The Radeon RX 6800 XT has 80% more cores than the RX 6700 XT, but that is not reflected in the performance results. The reason is that the RX 6700 XT (Navi 22) is very easy to increase clock speeds, which would be closing the gap between both GPUs, despite the difference between 4608 and 2560 processing units.

Another not minor detail is that the tool is identifying this graphics card as Nashira Point. This means that the other names that had been discovered like Nashira Point, Summit and Creek are alternate names for the Navi 2X (RDNA 2) chips. In this way, Nashira is not referring to a new architecture as previously thought.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT seems to be a graphics card that will be somewhat lower than the RTX 3070, especially when the Ray Tracing effects are activated. The leaker has not been able to give many more details about this model, so we do not know the clock speeds that the NITRO + model has with respect to the reference model.
