We have the first results of performance and comparison of how the Resizable BAR technology works in the RTX 3060.
Nvidia RTX 3060, benchmarks with Resizable BAR show 4-11% performance improvement
The RTX 3060 graphics card is the only RTX 30 series GPU that has support for Resizable BAR. The card was recently added to official support with GeForce Game Ready 461.72 drivers, which also enables BAR support.
The performance comparison was carried out by Wccftech and it does so by showing the performance in different video games with Resizable BAR enabled and disabled.
The test rig consists of a Ryzen 9 5900X running on an ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Plus-WiFi motherboard with 32GB of RAM capacity. The power supply is the Cooler Master V1200 Platinum, with plenty of power for this type of setup.
For which function Resizable BAR is practically the same as AMD's Smart Access Memory technology, which requires a Ryzen 5000 processor, a 500 chipset motherboard, and an RX 6000 graphics card.
Comparison results
Games tested are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Battlefield V, Borderlands 3, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Metro Exodus, Red Dead Redemption 2, Watch Dogs: Legion.
On average, we see a performance improvement that depends on the video game but is around 4 and 11%. It is undeniable that the performance improvement is there thanks to Resizable BAR, although it is not decisive, they are a couple of fps that add practically at no cost to gamers. This performance improvement, many times, is not even possible by overclocking the graphics card, so congratulations to all those who have an RTX 3060. We will keep you posted.
