Nvidia announced more games featuring the second generation of its DLSS technology known as DLSS 2.0, and the data is impressive after native support for DLSS was added in Unreal Engine 4.26, Epic Games' graphics engine. This support will not only accelerate adoption by simplifying everything related to integration, but also improve performance, and proof of this comes in the form of a couple of screenshots.
The first example is with the integration of the DLSS in the demo of the System Shock game, and it all translates into doubling the performance, where a GeForce RTX 3090 goes from running the game e 114 to 223.1 FPS or a GeForce RTX 2060 of 33, 8 to 78.7 FPS.
"The Unreal Engine 4 plugin makes it easy to bring Nvidia DLSS into the game - in fact, we brought it into the game over the weekend. Bringing System Shock to a new generation of gamers has been a labor of love for our team, and the impact that Nvidia DLSS will take on the player experience is undeniable, "said Matthew Kenneally, chief engineer at Night Dive Studios.
The most impressive of all comes with The Fabled Woods, a title that will arrive later this month almost tripling the performance with the Nvidia DLSS. For example, we can see how the GeForce RTX 3090 goes from 38.6 to 99.9 FPS with RayTracing activated, as the GeForce RTX 3080 goes from 32.8 to 86.8 FPS or the GeForce RTX 2060 from 12.6 to 31, 5 FPS.
"Adding Nvidia DLSS to The Fabled Woods was easy thanks to the Unreal Engine 4 plug-in, and the impact it has on performance is substantial," said Joe Bauer, founder of CyberPunch Studios. "With the Unreal Engine 4 plugin, adding DLSS to The Fabled Woods was a no-brainer; it really opens up DLSS to a whole new world of developers."
