MSI Z490, motherboards are updated to support PCIe 4.0

MSI is announcing the arrival of a new BIOS for all those Z490 motherboards that will add a very important feature, waiting for the arrival of the 11th generation Intel Core processors.

With the MSI update announced in the last hours, all MSI Z490 motherboards will be supported to take advantage of the PCIe 4.0 connection interface. In this way, the Z490 motherboards will be able to take advantage of the new PCIe 4.0 SSDs and, to a lesser extent, the graphics cards that will be able to enjoy a greater bandwidth.

Naturally, in order to take advantage of PCIe 4.0, we will require a processor that is compatible and that will happen with any of the new Intel Core 'Rocket Lake-S ' processors that are going to be launched throughout this month of March.

MSI is neither the first nor the last to update its motherboards to take advantage of PCIe 4.0 connections and the full potential of 11th generation Intel Core processors.

In one of the screenshots we can see all the motherboard models that are compatible, that is, practically all the Z490s that have been launched so far, where MEG GODLIKE or MEG Unify stand out, it is also compatible with A Pro motherboards, which are quite popular.

You should always check the motherboard model they have before trying to update the BIOS correctly. You can visit the official MSI website for more information.
