Mining boom: Palit intends to reissue the GeForce GTX 1060

With the rising prices of various cryptocurrencies, the demand for the corresponding hardware also increases. Graphics cards in particular are once again very popular with miners. However, players are also trying to get the coveted cards in order to upgrade their systems. This, coupled with poor availability, is currently causing catastrophic conditions on the graphics card market. Currently, wealthy players or miners are even willing to put more than double the regular price for a card on the table. So there is currently a gold rush feeling among resellers too.

In order to take some of the dynamism from the whole thing and to smooth things over, the manufacturer Palit now intends to release a new edition of the GTX 1060, which is intended exclusively for crypto mining. Said variant has neither an HDMI output nor a DisplayPort. But also the age of the card should make it extremely unattractive for gamers. For miners, however, only the so-called hash rates play a role. Although these are lower compared to the current generation, miners are currently grabbing every card they can get. So Palit could definitely find buyers for his special cards.

Furthermore, it is possible that Palit still has the said cards from the first big mining boom and is now trying to bring the remaining stocks from 2017 to the man or woman. However, the manufacturer does not seem to be averse to a new production either. It remains to be seen whether this will actually relax the graphics card market. Ultimately, the mining cards have hardly any resale value. Conversely, commercial graphics cards will surely find one or two buyers if the price should collapse. However, there currently seems to be no end in sight and coins such as Ethereum are chasing from one record to the next - although there are always fluctuations.
