Microsoft Store for Business No longer possible to purchase apps from 14.03.2021

It was about five and a half years ago that Microsoft set up the Microsoft Store for Business. Especially for companies and schools. Now the store for apps that can be bought will be closed again.

At that time, the additional store was set up for administrators who could make the apps available to employees for free or for a fee. But the plan didn't work out. There weren't enough apps for that.

Means: Apps can no longer be bought in the store. However, free apps are still offered. An existing Azure Active Directory account is required for this. Surfing in the store is no longer possible without registration. It is not yet clear whether the Store for Business and Education will be closed completely.

“If you've already bought a paid app, you can still use it, but you won't be able to make new purchases from businessstore.microsoft.com or educationstore.microsoft.com. In addition, you cannot purchase additional licenses for apps that you have already purchased. You can still assign and reassign licenses for apps that you already own and use the private store. Apps with a base price of "free" will still be available. This change has no effect on apps in the Microsoft Store under Windows 10. "
