Some Linux support patches have just named the existence of the Intel Core processors 'Lunar Lake' , which belong to the 14th generation, which is going to succeed Meteor Lake.
Intel 14th Generation Core 'Lunar Lake'
Intel Lunar Lake CPUs appear in Linux patches for the first time, showing that Intel is already working on these CPUs, probably with some prototypes.
It should be noted that the Intel Core 'Lunar Lake' processors are not going to be launched soon, we will have to wait about 2 years to see these CPUs in stores. Before them, the Alder Lake (12th Gen) and Meteor Lake (13th Gen) processors will be released. There are also indications that Intel could launch a new family of processors midway between Alder Lake and Meteor Lake called Raptor Lake.
The Lunar Lake family of processors is expected to launch sometime in 2023 or 2024, so there is still plenty of time to see them in action.
The support page discovered by Coelacanth's Dream (via Osuosi / Videocardz) shows Intel Lunar Lake support alongside the e1000e Ethernet controller. There is no doubt that these are processors for desktop and laptop systems.
Among the speculations, it is said that Meteor Lake could be intended for laptops and that Raptor Lake would be focused on desktop computers. The latter could contain the 7nm Ocean Cove cores.
Going back to Lunar Lake, the integrated graphics would be handled by Gen 12.9, which is an improved variant of Alder Lake's Gen 12.2 and Meteor Lake's Gen 12,722.
The only thing we don't know is whether Intel will continue to use the LGA 1700 Socket by then or will be replaced with a new one.
