Intel Core i9-11900K overclocked at 7 GHz and 1.873V

The Intel Core i9-11900K processor, top of the range of the 11th generation Rocket Lake-S architecture, has been detected in CPU-Z with clock speeds of 7 GHz, one of the highest on record.

The launch of the 11th generation Intel Core is going to launch this March 30 and some feats that can be achieved with the top of the range of the series, the Intel Core i9-11900K with 8 cores and 16 threads, begin to come to light. .

The processor was detected in the CPU-Z tool with an impressive clock speed of 7 GHz. This speed could be achieved with a voltage of 1,873 volts. The overclocker signed as 'Rog-Fisher' used the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Apex motherboard, a model designed that is intended for this type of extreme overclocking.

This is not the only extreme overclocking that has been recorded, the YouTube channel PC Wale also overclocked this same processor, but at 6.5 GHz. This clock speed was achieved with a slightly lower voltage of 1,678V.

PC Wale overclockers received a custom XOC BIOS from South Korean overclocker SafeDisk that works for ASUS. The BIOS allows you to adjust the voltage of this processor with up to 2 V, which is really crazy for this chip, which requires a voltage of 1.325 V. The motherboard they used is the ROG Maximus XIII Hero.

Performance results have not been published for NDA reasons. Although they have not said what type of cooling they have used, it is most likely that they have used LN2, which is not available to any PC user.

March 30 is the set date to see these new Intel Core Rocket Lake-S processors in action. We will keep you informed.
