Many laptop manufacturers already seem to be testing their equipment with Intel Core Tiger Lake-H processors. In this opportunity, we can see the performance of the Core i7-11800H.
Intel Core i7-11800H laptops are faster than the Ryzen 7 5800H
The 8-core, 16-thread Core i7-11800H chip appeared on Geekbench for testing with a base clock speed of 2.3 GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.6 GHz.
The Tiger Lake-H series is going to be positioned a notch above those Tiger Lake-H35 notebook processors, which have up to a maximum of 4 cores and are designed for ultra-notebooks.
The CPU was tested with a Samsung 760XDA laptop that comes without a discrete GPU in its repertoire. The laptop also has a capacity of 32 GB of RAM.
The results in Geekbench, between 3% and 13% above the Ryzen 7 5800H
The performance results on Geekbench show that the Core i7-11800H scores between 1400 and 1537 in the single-core test and between 7727 and 8393 points in the multi-core test.
These results place the Core i7-11800H between 3% and 13% above the Ryzen 7 5800H and between 8% and 17% faster in multi-core tests. If compared to the Ryzen 9 5900H, it would be above the i7-11800H with a margin of 1% and 7% in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
We expect Intel Tiger Lake-H processors and the first notebooks with these chips to hit the market in the second quarter of this year, giving us a launch window between April and June 2021. We will keep you posted.
