The Intel Core i7-11700K is already sold in some retail stores and there is one that has gone through the delidded process.
Intel Core i7-11700K for sale at a retailer and they already make it delidded
A German retailer is already selling the Intel Core i7-11700K even before the official launch. The processor appears to be very similar to the Intel Core i9-11900K, save for the differences in clock speeds.
The Intel processor has 8 cores and 16 threads with a clock speed of 3.6 GHz, which can reach 4.9 GHz and 5 GHz with turbo 3.0 mode. With all cores active, the processor can reach a clock speed of up to 4.6 GHz.
The chip has been delidded, with the intention of improving CPU cooling. The photograph that MoBen posted on the Overclock.net forums would show the same die used by the Rocket Lake flagship, which is going to be the 11th generation flagship. The die size would be 260-270 mm2. The die is much larger than the Comet Lake generation, 28% larger.
Although we have the first images of a Core i7-11700K, there are no temperature tests to know how many degrees it decreases with this process, the reason? That the delidded was failed and the processor has crashed in the process.
The Intel Core i9 processor is similar to the aforementioned i7, only with some slight differences in clock speeds. The Core i9 also makes use of Thermal Velocity Boost, unlike the i7-11700K.
The Rocket lake-S processors will be launched on March 30.
