Intel 32-core Ice Lake-SP processor benchmark test results leaked, performance catches up with AMD similar products

The benchmark test results of Intel's Ice Lake-SP processor are leaked in the SiSoftware Sandra database, which is a product with a 32-core 64-thread specification. From the test results, the performance has improved, catching up with AMD's similar products, using the Zen 2 architecture EPYC processor code-named Rome core.

According to Wccftech reports, Intel’s Xeon Platinum 8352S and 8352Y processors are basically the same specifications, with 32 cores and 64 threads, the L2 cache is 40MB, the L3 cache is 48MB, 2.2GHz base frequency, 3.4GHz turbo frequency, TDP It is 205W. The difference between the two is that Xeon Platinum 8352S supports up to four-way configuration, while Xeon Platinum 8352Y supports two-way configuration.

The Xeon Platinum 8352S processor was tested on a single-channel platform, while the Xeon Platinum 8352Y processor was tested on a dual-channel platform. The Xeon Platinum 8352S processor scored 813.40 GOPS in the processor computing power test and 3564.27 Mpix/s in the multimedia test. Switching to the dual-channel platform of the Xeon Platinum 8352Y processor, the processor computing power test score is 1604.36 GOPS, which basically doubles the performance.

In order to compare its performance more intuitively, I chose the benchmark test results of the EPYC 7532 processor in the same database for comparison. This is also a 32-core 64-thread processor. You can see that Intel's new processor is slightly faster. In the comparison between the dual-socket platform and the AMD EPYC 7742 processor, the same configuration with 64 cores and 128 threads still has a good performance. Given that AMD will release the EPYC series of Zen 3 architecture processors in a few days, from the performance of Ryzen 5000 series processors, the improvement of IPC is inevitable. From this point of view, Intel will still face greater pressure.

Recently, Intel and AMD have begun to rush into the server market. With the EPYC series processors in terms of performance, efficiency, node connection, and other aspects, the problems of Intel’s long-term same process technology and lack of architectural changes have been exposed, and AMD is subverting the market The performance of the lack of effective response.
