HBO increases its bet on 'Game of Thrones' and prepares three other prequels

The US television network, HBO, is working on three additional 'Game of Thrones' prequels, according to Variety and the Hollywood Reporter.

HBO appears determined to increase the volume of its content and is already preparing three additional Game of Thrones prequels, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. The American television network seeks to create new products related to the successful series inspired by the novels of George RR Martin.

The aforementioned media have provided some details of the trio of productions preceding Game of Thrones. One of them is called Sea Snake - or 9 Voyages - and will be developed by Bruno Heller, the creator of Rome. The series will focus on the story of Lord Corlys Velaryon.

The main character of 9 Voyages is also known as Sea Snake and for being the head of House Velaryon and husband of Rhaenys Targaryen, who sails everywhere with him. It is about one of Westeros' best-known maritime adventurers, who manages to overshadow the Lannisters with his wealth.

The second prequel is named 10,000 Ships and takes Princess Nymeria as its axis. The warrior had an outstanding ancestor in House Martell, who founded the kingdom of Dorne. Its story takes place about 1,000 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series could put a complete twist on the vision of Sunspear, the capital of Dorne.

The latest project, known as Flea Bottom, comes to life in the Flea Bottom neighborhood, the poorest and most marginalized in the city of King's Landing. However, its narrow and dirty streets raised notable personalities such as Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon.

These 'Game of Thrones' prequels will come after 'House of the Dragon'

The new HBO projects will follow House of the Dragon, the first spin-off of Game of Thrones that is already underway. The series will begin filming in April of this year and will feature a cast consisting of Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Paddy Considine (Viserys Targaryen), Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), and Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), among others. We must not forget, in addition, that another additional prequel is on the way: Tales of Dunk and Egg, which will be set 90 years before the main series.

So far, HBO has not commented on the three new Game of Thrones prequels and more details are unknown. It should be borne in mind that there is always the possibility that not all projects will materialize. Now it only remains to wait for the official announcement to know which ones will finally reach the public.
