Motherboards B560 of Gigabyte have received a new BIOS update that is preparing them for processors Intel Core Rocket Lake-S of 11th generation.
This new update provides support for the Intel Core 'Rocket Lake-S', as well as allowing these Gigabyte B560 Aorus motherboards to achieve 5.1 GHz clock speeds with the Intel Core i9-11900K CPU on all cores.
The new BIOS for Gigabyte motherboards not only adds support for Rocket Lake-S and higher clock speeds for the i9-11900K, but it also adds support for DDR4-5300 RAM. In addition, the XMP overclocking of the unlocked memory is also present.
The update is not bad at all, as Intel's mid-range chipsets used to not have good overclocking capabilities until the new Intel 500 series.
Gigabyte claims to have worked hard to make its B560 motherboards capable of supporting these overclocking capabilities:
“This powerful performance takes advantage of Gigabyte's premium Aorus motherboard materials and product design capabilities, including a 12 + 1 phase / 60Apms DrMOS power amp, an ultra-cooled 6-layer PCB. 2Oz, a fully enclosed thermal VRM design and the latest Smart Fan 6 technology for temperature control. These characteristics allow the processors to have a stable and pure power supply under ultra-high frequency operation, providing the strongest support for time-limited CPU overclocking."
The supported motherboards and their corresponding BIOS are as follows:
- GIGABYTE B560 AORUS PRO AX - F5a
- GIGABYTE B560I AORUS PRO AX - F4a
- GIGABYTE B560M AORUS ELITE - F4a
- GIGABYTE B560M AORUS PRO - F5a
- GIGABYTE B560M AORUS PRO AX - F6a
