It has been rumored for a long time that AVM will soon be introducing a new repeater with WLAN AX alias WiFi 6. And now you have indirectly betrayed yourself. Also, we have about the new FRITZ! Repeater 6000 report and already know some information that is leaked. But now AVM is officially and openly “showing” the new model.
The new model is already listed on the “Which FRITZ! Products support Mesh?” Page. So an announcement is expected very soon. Exact technical data are not yet known, but it is clear that the FRITZ! Repeater 6000 has the same design as its smaller brother (3000). A 7590 AX will also come at some point, but this is not yet visible here.
Whether the new repeater will also support 4 × 4 WLAN AX for the first time remains to be seen, but it would be very likely due to the design. Smaller AX repeaters may appear in the future, which are then suitable for a 6660 cable and 5530 fiber, for example. There is currently no information about the price either. We assume that the repeater will also have an RRP of € 130-150.
WLAN AX is the successor to WLAN AC and is intended to offer more throughput and performance, especially in dense WLAN areas. According to AVM, the "AX year" had already started in 2020, but then Corona intervened and the technology industry came to a rest a little. They are now hoping for 2021 with new smartphones and devices with WiFi 6. With the 7530 AX, 6660 Cable, and 5530 Fiber, AVM already has three models with the new standard in its portfolio.
