Snippets from a leaked trailer give us the first look at the gameplay of Elden Ring, the game by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George RR Martin.
Almost two years have passed since Bandai Namco and FromSoftware introduced Elden Ring, the new game from the acclaimed Hidetaka Miyazaki in collaboration with British novelist George RR Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire ). Since then we have hardly known any new details, a situation that has begun to generate signs of impatience among the gaming community. However, today some excerpts of a supposed trailer with the first "look" at the gameplay were leaked.
Let's put everything that happened in context. For several weeks now, the rumor has taken hold that we will soon be able to see a new trailer for Elden Ring. The most interesting thing about the matter is that, according to VGC, this advance has been circulating among chat groups on the internet for several weeks. Shortly after the report was published, several Twitter users shared those snippets. Of course, we anticipate that the quality is quite bad because they were recorded off-screen.
One of the leakers mentions that the videos belong to an exclusive trailer for internal use, so the trailer that they will apparently share soon is very different. Despite the above, this is the first time that we can see - half - an Elden Ring gameplay. Yes, the quality of the recordings leaves much to be desired, but at least now we are sure that the game is still alive.
VGC complements its report noting that Elden Ring suffered a delay due to COVID-19. In fact, it is unlikely that it will see the light in 2021. And it is that FromSoftware developers had to adapt to remote work to attend to sanitary measures. This situation, of course, significantly impaired the Elden Ring development schedule. It is not the only one, since the pandemic is hitting the entire video game development sector very hard.
The good news is that various reports agree that Bandai Namco will release more details on Elden Ring in the coming weeks. Among them is Jason Schreier, a Bloomberg journalist and one of the most trusted sources in the industry. The rumors are also backed by Jeff Grubb, who has become a very reliable source of information when it comes to video games.
