AMD has been trying to understand for several days the origin of a mysterious USB bug affecting its 500 series chipset series. While waiting for a fix, the advice is offered.
On Reddit, many users reported various USB issues including random disconnections. AMD intervened to confirm that an investigation was underway while asking the victims to transmit as much information as possible.
Chipset 500 series and the USB bug
At first glance, the problems occur when using a VR headset with an X570 motherboard. Analysis of the data shows that often problems are common when using the PCIe 4.0 bus. This file is progressing but AMD does not yet have a fix.
In the meantime, the firm has just published recommendations in order to avoid falling victim to this failure. She recommends disabling C-States and switching to PCIe 3.0. AMD reaffirms that its teams are at work to quickly find a solution.
