'Call of Duty: Warzone' players break the game by creating a gigantic explosion

What happens when you create a gigantic explosion in 'Call of Duty: Warzone'? Believe it or not, the server of the game passes away.

Call of Duty: Warzone, despite not going through its best stage, has consolidated an immense community of players. According to the numbers reported by Activision last February, the battle royal reached 100 million users; a brutal figure for the first year of life. But beyond eliminating each other, some community members have also joined forces to make a very crazy idea come true.

What would happen if you collect all the vehicles on the map in one place and explode them at the same time? Well, that was the occurrence of MarleyThirteen, a YouTuber who organized a full game to verify it. The goal was to see a huge explosion, the largest in battle royale history — until now. However, the participants did not anticipate that the Call of Duty: Warzone servers would not be able to withstand such an event.

In the video below you can see that 150 players teamed up to bring dozens of vehicles, including helicopters, to the same point in Verdansk. After finishing the assembly process, the players aimed their airstrikes in the area to make them explode. The result: a massive explosion of vehicles simultaneously. The problem is that, a few seconds later, Warzone completely broke.

Yes, the game server was unable to survive the explosion. The error message does not specify the reasons nor does it provide an error code, however it is clear that the large concentration of players in one location caused conflict. In addition, the server had to process dozens of airstrikes and explosions in a matter of seconds. It is an abnormal situation for a game of Warzone, of course; even more so when it occurs in the same area.

In fact, before making the explosion it is already possible to see some inconveniences on the screen. The clearest is that the character models were not loading correctly. The number of polygons was greatly reduced and their textures did not load either. This is perhaps because Warzone is not prepared to process 150 players at a single point in Verdansk. After all, the map is huge and players are spread out across the stage at the start of the game.
