Rocket Lake-S processors are right around the corner. The launch is planned for March 30 and the pre-sale will begin this March 16. Meanwhile, the big motherboard manufacturers are updating their current products to shelter it, as is the case with Biostar and its Z490 motherboards.
Biostar Z490, new BIOS available to host Rocket Lake-S
Biostar is one of the last manufacturers to offer an updated BIOS for their current Z490 motherboards, with which they will give official support for the Rocket Lake-S family of processors.
In total, there are five motherboards that are updated with support for the 11th-generation Rocket Lake CPU family; RACING Z490GTA EVO, RACING Z490GTA, RACING Z490GTN, Z490A-SILVER and Z490T-SILVER. All receive the optimized BIOS ME 14.1 to support Intel 11th generation processors.
Users who own any of these motherboards can now go to the manufacturer's official website to download the updated BIOS for their motherboard model.
This year, Biostar is celebrating its 35th anniversary in the hardware world and is gaining more and more prominence with its products, especially in the motherboard segment. One of the major bases of this manufacturer is to offer products focused on price / performance.
Although Z490 motherboards are fully capable of housing Rocket Lake-S processors, it is believed that to get the most out of Rocket Lake-S processors, a Z590 motherboard will be required, especially with the Top-of-the-range CPUs.
