A number of established eBay resellers sell the RX 6700 XT for the price of an RX 6800 XT, which has yet to be officially released. There is already a premium without being launched, so the few units that have received official stores and distributors are confirmed.
Bad news for those who are waiting to buy an RX 6700 XT, since the recommended retail price will be symbolic because it looks like it will not be fulfilled. Not only that, the stock won't be enough to keep up with demand, sparking another shortage of graphics cards in the mid-range RX 6000. Resellers have already started the party on eBay.
RX 6700 XT for sale on eBay with abusive prices
There is no other more precise qualification than "abusive" because it is a GPU that should start for just over € 500, but the RX 6700 XT is being sold for over € 900. Translated into numbers, we are talking about a markup of more than 180% on various units.
Say that the sellers who have listed these custom graphics cards have a good percentage of positive feedback, so they are not fans. We've seen a GIGABYTE RX 6700 XT Eagle for around € 525 + shipping, but this is an auction so it may be selling for a higher price. At the moment, they have bid 62 times in that auction, so there is buying interest.
The Radeon RX 6700 XT will compete with the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 in performance and price, although certain benchmarks indicate that it will be below the latter in FPS. And it is that its mining performance can be very interesting since it could be above 40 MH / s. If we add to that that it has a TDP of 230 W, it is not bad in terms of profitability.
With all this, we have seen resellers who have listed them for more than € 1000, which seems to us a full-blown aberration, more than a 200% markup! Unless their profitability in cryptocurrencies is very good, I doubt that they will sell this model at that price. At the moment, AMD has not announced its family of GPUs for mining.
Regarding the stock, we already inform you that AMD would have destined about 1000 units for all of Europe, so not many will arrive in Spain. We spoke with several Spanish online stores and they told us that they received less stock than expected, so the numbers are clear.
Finally, to say that all the RX 6700 XT are sold fully sealed, so it is clear that it is pure resale business. What we do not understand is how they can sell them before they have been officially launched, how have they gotten them? Will it be a pre-sale?
Another fact to note is that most of them are sold from Germany, will the country be the one that has received the most RX 6700 XT? We have many questions that will be answered shortly. So, follow us on our social networks because we will comment on all the news about it.
Do you think there will be enough units for gamers? Will it perform well in mining?
