The Snyder Cut of Justice League is just around the corner. After a petition campaign, the long-awaited feature film will premiere on HBO Max and other HBO platforms on March 18. Although we already know a great deal of detail about Zack Snyder's vision by now, we recently learned an anecdote that has surprised the DC fandom. Believe it or not, Zack Snyder's Justice League was able to arrive without visual effects.
Can you imagine the long-awaited Snyder Cut making its debut unfinished? Millions of fans would have lit their torches to demand explanations. As ridiculous as it may sound, Warner Bros. at some point contemplated releasing the film without having completed a critically important post-production phase. Fortunately, Zack Snyder was adamant and refused the idea of driving a pitch under those conditions.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Zack Snyder himself revealed the rollercoaster of situations they went through to make the Snyder Cut a reality. When Warner finally listened to fan requests, they had to go to Zack Snyder to extend the proposal. However, at no point did the company consider making an additional investment beyond the feature film that hit theaters - the one directed by Joss Whedon.
The idea of the company was simple: launch the Snyder Cut exactly as it was stored on the director's computer. In other words: with custom post-production. Even more serious, Zack Snyder suggests that Warner intended to be the good character in history. If the footage was offered unfinished, many would think that Warner had been right for not releasing it earlier. But the director's commitment was not with the film company, but with the fans. They were the ones who drove the existence of the Snyder Cut.

The director made it clear that his footage could not be released incomplete. In fact, he dared to point out to Warner the reasons why they wanted to release it unfinished: "One, you take the internet off your back, which is probably your main reason for wanting to do it. This isn't the first time Warner's obstacles to the Snyder Cut have been mentioned.
