Paramount Plus is a few days away from becoming an official platform and they have already shaken us enough by announcing that they will release a reboot of Nickelodeon's animated hit, 'Rugrats' but this opportunity will have CGI technology.
For the younger readers of our portal, we tell you that 'The Rugrats' was one of the most successful series of the 90s since it premiered in 1991 and lasted 13 years on the air, with a total of 9 seasons. The production established itself as one of the most beloved children's programs of an entire generation.
In it, we met Tommy Pickles and his “baby” friends, always ready to embark on adventures and mischief. 'Rugrats' became a phenomenon that led to various spin-offs such as miniseries and even movies for the big screen, for example, 'The Rugrats Movie', 'Rugrats in Paris: The Movie'.
Since 2003, Nickelodeon had not updated the plot of 'The Rugrats', until now. In 2018, they announced that the series would return for another live-action series and a live-action film, the latter was scheduled to premiere in November of last year, but was withdrawn from the release schedule.
Now, thanks to the arrival of Paramount Plus, on March 4, we will have the opportunity to see a new animated series with CGI where the cast of original voices will say present to resume the role of their characters "from the past."
Undoubtedly, for older millennials who watched 'The Rugrats' episodes to death, getting used to this new CGI edition will take a while, but we must applaud Paramount's renewal for the new generations. So far, it has no release date.
