Netflix announced that 'The Chicago 7 Trial', Aaron Sorkin's film released in 2020, will be available for free on YouTube this weekend.
Netflix announced that The Trial of the Chicago 7, Aaron Sorkin's film released in late 2020, will be available on YouTube throughout the weekend. The decision is due to the 51st anniversary of the verdict of the historic trial that occurred in 1968.
Through an entry posted on the Netflix website, Sorkin says that since he was introduced to the story of the trial 14 years ago, his relationship with her has changed significantly.
"When we started filming last winter, we knew that the story we were telling was not only an important chapter in American history, it was very relevant to current events."
The Chicago 7 Trial is available on the Netflix YouTube channel in original language with subtitles in Spanish and Spanish for Latin America.
"To commemorate the anniversary of the verdict in this landmark trial, we made the film available on YouTube for 48 hours, remembering the true patriots who inspired a generation, indeed generations, to take to the streets and defend the foundations of our United States Constitution, along with the courageous voices that continue to do so today. We are honored to share your story with the world. "
The film focuses on the trial of a group of men accused of conspiracy, incitement to riot, and other charges related to protests in Chicago during 1968. The Chicago 7 Trial stars Sasha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, and more.

Despite the fact that the film is light years ahead of other works by Aaron Sorkin, the end result is good. Although the director took some liberties to portray the leads, some major events depicted in the film occurred in real life, such as the inhumane treatment of Bobby Seale, co-founder of the Black Panthers.
The Chicago Trial of the 7 will only be available for 48 hours, so if you are not a subscriber of the service and want to see it, now is the time.
