'Mission Impossible 7' and 'A Quiet Place Part II' Will Arrive at Paramount + 45 Days After Their Theatrical Release

Paramount revealed its strategy to deal with the pandemic. Films like Mission Impossible 7 will hit Paramount + 45 days after making their movie debut.

The training industry continues to move chips to survive the pandemic. Since 2020 we have seen significant decisions that could define the future of cinema - at least in the short term - and in 2021 the trend will continue. Today Paramount announced that Paramount +, its streaming video platform, will be the lifeline for such important films as A Quiet Place Part II and Mission Impossible 7. His strategy, however, will not be as aggressive as Warner Bros.

Paramount's plan, according to Deadline, is for A Quiet Place Part II and Mission Impossible 7 to arrive at Paramount + 45 days after their theatrical release. The first wig suffered multiple delays during 2020 and its last date is still scheduled for September 17. Therefore, Paramount + would receive it in early November.

Mission Impossible 7, meanwhile, will debut in theaters on November 19, so in January 2022 it should already be available on Paramount +. At the moment they are the only films that will follow that path, but we must not forget that Paramount has other productions of great importance that were also affected by the pandemic. The clearest example is Top Gun: Maverick, whose premiere was postponed to July 2, 2021. Are there chances to see it on Paramount +? The last word is COVID-19.

Another death blow for the cinema

Although many people will appreciate the possibility of seeing Mission Impossible 7 and A Quiet Place Part II in their homes, we cannot ignore that we are facing another death blow for the cinema. This type of initiative will keep the audience away from the rooms while the health situation does not improve its course. The most worrying thing for these companies is that, despite the fact that vaccination advances in much of the world, it seems that 2021 will continue to be hell for cinemas.

Theaters have watched with annoyance how the big production houses are taking their releases to the streaming video platforms. However, and as mentioned above, Paramount's strategy is far from approaching Warner's. The latter has already announced that all its 2021 feature films, including Matrix 4 and Dune, will have a simultaneous theatrical release and HBO Max.
