The German retailer Mindfactory surprises and starts selling the Intel Core i7-11700K processor before the official launch in March.
The Rocket Lake-S series of processors is scheduled to launch in March, but one of the most important retailers in Europe seems to care little about meeting this date. The Intel Core i7-11700K is available for direct purchase and is not a pre-sale.
The Core i7-11700K processor features 8 cores and 16 threads using the new Cypress Cove cores. This is the first Intel Core series to have full support for the PCIe 4.0 connection interface. The base clock speed is 3.6 GHz and can go up to 4.9 GHz as a boost clock speed. The TVB function would not be supported by this model like the i5-11600K.
At the time of writing, Mindfactory has five Intel Core i7-11700K CPUs in stock and only one can be purchased per person. The price is 469 euros, about 152 euros over the current Core i7-10700K (Comet Lake-S) in the same store. This price would also be very similar to the Core i9-10900K, which is priced at 473 euros (Prices include 19% VAT).
Intel is expected to introduce the Rocket Lake-S series of CPUs on March 16 and they will not be available for sale until March 30.
