Intel Core i7-11700 no K, publish their first analysis and comparison

Odd Tech Reviews received a bundle of new Intel Core Rocket Lake-S processors, including the Intel Core i7-11700.

This processor would not be an engineering sample, but it is the final commercial model that will go on sale in mid-March.

The Intel Core i7-11700 non-K is an 8-core, 16-thread CPU that has a TDP of 65W. This model has a base clock of 2.9 GHz with a boost clock of up to 4.4 GHz. When compared to the i7-11700K, the clock speed is 600 MHz lower.

The PL1 limit is 35W and PL2 is set at 115W. The values, of course, it is possible to change them in the BIOS.

Test of performance

For these tests, the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII motherboard (Z590 chipset) was used together with a DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

The embargo on the 11th generation Rocket Lake-S processors is coming next month and rumors indicate that the launch will take place on March 18.

The results that we see published are curious due to the fact that the final and commercial model is slower than the engineering sample. A Ryzen 7 5800X processor is also used in the review which serves as a performance benchmark. The AMD chip is superior in all tests, so the i7-11700 should compete with other more modest chips in the Ryzen 5000 series. You can see all the tests in detail in the video. We will keep you informed.
