If there is software that never managed to be “copied” in its entirety, it was Microsoft's Excel. It is true that Google invented Google Sheets, but despite being on track, there are still many functions that are not yet supported.
A company led by a Portuguese launched a competing platform from Excel and Google Sheets and wants to be the “Netflix of spreadsheets”.
Rows: The collaborative “Excel” platform that wants to be the “Netflix of spreadsheets”
Humberto Pereira is CEO of Rows, a Portuguese-German company that will launch a true competitor of Excel and Google Sheets. In an interview with Publico, Humberto Ayres Pereira reveals that spreadsheets are the best way to build a new business.
According to the newspaper, it is estimated that one billion people today use the two most popular spreadsheets in the world, at home, and at work. With more than 600 million users on Microsoft's pioneering Excel and more than 300 million on rival Google Sheets, the planet seemed to be served.
But, strange as it may seem to a layman, spreadsheets can still be improved. And that is what the company Rows bet on, which this week received 16 million dollars (13.2 million euros) from venture capitalists to continue doing what it set out to: reinvent the spreadsheets as we know them.
According to the CEO of Rows, his solution is the only one with a native integration engine and a new way of sharing.
The difference is that ours is connected to other systems, to other sites, you can search automatically on Google, you can connect to LinkedIn, YouTube, any other platform, and when you share it, it is not an infinite grid and frightening
Whoever wants to try this solution can do it here without any cost. The platform is free for teams with up to ten users and who “use” integrations sparingly ”(1000 requests). There are subscriptions for larger companies, with subscriptions from $ 59 to $ 499.
