Netflix announced working on an animated series based on the popular game 'Dota 2', Valve. The project, entitled 'Dota: Dragons' Blood', will have eight episodes and is scheduled for release on March 25.

The anime tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight who aims to rid the world of various dangers. After an encounter with an ancient and powerful Eldwurm dragon, the hero becomes involved in a much bigger event than he ever imagined.

In addition to the announcement, streaming revealed the first production trailer. You can see a lot of action and epic moments. Check out.

The project was developed in direct partnership with  Valve - the game's producer -, which, according to Ashley Edward Miller, executive producer of the series, helped the team to reach the “next level” in terms of cinematic animation, acting, and music.

“Fans will love how we imagine and weave an epic and emotional story in the universe of Dota 2, with a theme aimed at adults and their favorite characters”, reveals Miller.

The animation of the series was in charge of Studio MIR, known for acclaimed productions such as 'The Legend of Korra' and 'Voltron - The Legendary Defender', from Netflix.

'Cyberpunk' Anime

In addition to 'Dota 2', Netflix works on another anime based on games. This is 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners', a production that adapts the world of the famous RPG to other media besides games.

The production, which should have 10 episodes, is expected to debut in the service only next year. For now, details are still scarce, but the story and characters will be new, with only the city Night City as a common element.

The anime will be produced by Trigger Inc., the studio behind anime such as 'Kill la Kill' and 'Little Witch Academia', also available on Netflix. So if you like Trigger's artistic style and productions, you will probably like 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners'.
