Diablo II Resurrected was announced during Blizzcon 2021 and is the remastering of one of the most iconic PC video games of its genre.
The remastering of Diablo II is going to be released this year and makes a total redesign of the graphic section.
The original game was released in 2000 with graphics made in 2D, which today seems quite old-fashioned, especially at high resolutions. Blizzard's remastering makes the leap towards 3D graphics with new lighting effects much more modern than those in 2000. In addition, Blizzard is committed to the scalability of the graphics engine, being able to work on consoles such as Nintendo Switch.
One of the most interesting curiosities shown by Blizzard is the possibility of playing the game with the new remastered 3D graphics or the original 2D graphics of the time. Blizzard has gone to the trouble of preserving all of the classic gameplay and movements, as well as remastering all of the cinematics from the original game.
Diablo II: Resurrected is launching on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, and next-gen gaming platforms. The requirements for PC are below and are not demanding at all if we consider that at least a GTX 660 or a Radeon 7850 is requested. In addition, it is possible that it works on processors almost 'out of date' for gaming at this time like an AMD FX-4350.
