Bill Gates says underestimating Elon Musk is not a good idea: He would have lost a fortune

Bill Gates praises Elon Musk after multiple frictions. But there would be a story involving a lot of money behind it.

During 2020 we witnessed several clashes and cross statements between Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, and Elon Musk, owner of Tesla Motors and SpaceX.

Everything pointed to the fact that Windows' father was not very convinced of Elon's business and ecological success with his car company.

In one of the most tense points, he came to affirm that electric trucks were not a practical solution due to the issue of batteries.

But now it seems that everything is behind him and Gates has said something very flattering about Musk: that he should not be underestimated.

Bill Gates would have been expensive

In an interview with New York Times reporter Kara Swisher for the Sway podcast, Bill spoke about Musk and his accomplishments in a surprisingly positive tone:

Well, it's important to say that what Elon did with Tesla is one of the biggest contributions to climate change that anyone has ever made.

Underestimating Elon is not a good idea.

What gives another context and nuance to these words is what Elon himself spoke in a recent episode of Joe Rogan's podcast.

Since there, he revealed that Gates would actually have bet against the financial success of Tesla Motors with short investments.

So when the auto company's shares soared through the roof, Gates actually would have lost a fortune.

Musk says he is not sure if this is real or not. But he emphasizes that people very close to and familiar with the subject would have endorsed that event that cost Bill Gates a lot of money.
