Today we have very fresh information about the next generation of AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, in its two variants; 'Phoenix' for laptops and 'Raphael' for desktop computers.
The information from Patrick Schur suggests that AMD is going to release two processor families (CPU and APU) for the next generation of Zen-based CPUs. In fact, this is going to be the 7th generation using this main core architecture.
Ryzen 7000 'Phoenix' for Laptops
The new 'Phoenix' APUs are designed for laptops on the FP8 platform and will see the light of day after the launch of the Ryzen 6000 Rembrandt, which are the successors to the current Ryzen 5000 'Cezanne' APUs.
If AMD is still in line with its APU processors, Phoenix would be considered the 6th Gen Zen, since Renoir is 3rd Gen and Cezanne is 4th Gen.

The new APUs would use the FP8 platform, replacing FP7 that would be used exclusively for Rembrandt APUs. As you might expect, the main architecture for Phoenix will be Zen 4 and we could see them in action in 2023.
Ryzen 7000 'Raphael' for AM5 platform
Raphael is going to be the desktop CPU line that uses the Zen 4 architecture and that is going to work under AM5 motherboards. These processors are expected to hit the market in mid-2022.
According to this leak, AMD intends to add RDNA 3 in the desktop Ryzen 7000 processors, to match Intel's offering, which usually adds iGPUs in all its families, except for variants that do not expressly have it.
In addition to the new AM5 socket, it will also make use of DDR5 memories and a PCIe 5.0 connection interface. Finally, the IPC performance is expected to increase 25% in Zen 4 over Zen 3, which is in line with what usually improves performance at each Zen architecture leap. We will keep you posted.
