Alan Tudik, who played the droid K-2SO in the blockbuster Rogue One, has revealed that his character will not appear in the first episodes of Andor. The show will be released on Disney + and is currently being filmed, but the droid will be added along the way and, perhaps, not in the first season.
This means that we will see the acquaintance of Cassian Andor and K-2SO, which grew into a real friendship.
They're filming right now, but I don't take part in it. If the show stays on the air, I will definitely be there.
The actor also joked that he was suggesting the title K2 Fast K2 Furious: The Cassian Andor Series, but the studio limited itself to the simpler and more sonorous Andor.
Tudik also revealed that he will turn 50 in March, but he himself participates in motion capture for the role of a droid. He's not the kind of guy to ask others to film and then just voice a character in the studio.
The premiere of Andora is to take place in 2022 at Disney +, which by that time may become available in Russia. Tony Gilroy takes part in the creation of the show, and Diego Luna will play the main role. There are no script details yet.
