Less than a month ago the Steam platform reached the number of 24,776,635 concurrent players, setting a new record for concurrent users coinciding with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which brought together more than one million players simultaneously in its week of the premiere. However, the Christmas season, when millions of players have vacations and more time available, has caused Steam to break its own record.
Last Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 4:20 p.m. (peninsular time) a peak of more than 25 million players connected at the same time on the platform was reached. A total of 25,413,392 players invested their time on Steam at that time, proving once again that more and more people are enjoying the video game sector, a sector that does not stop its boom in entertainment and has benefited mandatory or recommended confinement in the midst of a global pandemic.
Despite the Epic Games Store having gained some popularity among PC gamers by giving away numerous games frequently, Steam continues to prove itself to be an unstoppable platform. In 2020, Hades was crowned the best game among its users.
