SNK Corporation announced that the fighting game The King of Fighters XV will go on sale this year. In honor of the announcement, the company also published the first trailer and screenshots of the game. In addition, the developer elaborated on the third season pass of another fighting game - Samurai Shodown.
According to producer Yasuyuki Oda and creative director Eisuke Ogura, The King of Fighters XV will focus on dynamic combat spiced up with new elements: “Now we can do things that were not possible during the development of XIV as in terms of both sound and graphics. We are in no hurry to work out every aspect."
The King of Fighters XV developers is currently focused on updating the features and optimizing the game. In addition, SNK Corporation plans to film an animated commercial featuring Masami Obari, which Fatal Fury fans may know from the clips from the nineties.
In addition to this, SNK Corporation announced that the third Samurai Shodown Season Pass will release in mid-March 2021. The set will include the Cham-Cham and Hibiki Takane fighters from Samurai Shodown II and The Last Blade II, respectively. Details of the heroes will be announced later.
In addition, with the release of Season 3, Samurai Shodown will feature Guard Crush, which for the first time in the history of the series can be used against opponents. They also promise to rework the balance and combat system of the game.
