Samsung released the first 90Hz OLED notebook panel: Global mass production in March

Nowadays, "high refresh rate" has become one of the hot words in the mobile phone industry, and 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rate screens have become the standard configuration of most new phones on the market.

So, when you hear an OLED laptop with a refresh rate of 90Hz, will your eyes shine?

Today, Samsung Display announced that it will mass produce 90Hz OLEDs for notebook computers in March this year.

90Hz OLED notebook computers will appear in consumers' view for the first time this year.

In addition, according to Samsung Display, many IT companies around the world plan to release 90Hz high-end OLED notebook computers this year.

It is worth noting that because the corresponding speed of OLED is more than 10 times faster than that of LCD, 90Hz OLED can be driven at high speed like 120Hz LCD.

Through the screen smear test using the same high-speed car image, the smear length of 90Hz OLED is 0.9mm, while the smear length of 120Hz LCD is 1mm, and the former produces better afterimages.

With the OLED's high refresh rate display, it can meet the various user needs for notebooks, such as large-scale games, office, video, etc.

Not long ago, Samsung Display announced that it will launch more than 10 notebook OLED displays in 2021 to enter the notebook market.

According to the official introduction, Samsung's OLED notebook screen has half the thickness of the traditional display, only 1.0mm, and the screen weight is reduced to 130g.

At the same time, Samsung OLED notebooks will also be equipped with UPC screen camera technology for the first time.

At present, Samsung has applied for the UPC (Under Panel Camera) trademark in the Korean Intellectual Property Office.

It is believed that with the shipment of Samsung Display’s first 90Hz OLED notebook panel, this year's high-end notebook computer market may start a new contest.
