Newly released in the Galaxy S21 5G, the Samsung Exynos 2100 is already the subject of much controversy, starting with the first performance gap against the equivalent Snapdragon chips from Qualcomm. However, it seems that Samsung would be aiming even higher, already preparing a new generation of chipsets from the hand of AMD, with which it would also exceed, again by far, the latest Apple processors.
This has been confirmed by the Chinese portal IT Home, who assure that the GFXBench scores were shared in a Korean forum, with graphics benchmark scores that would place the Exynos in development, it has a performance almost twice better than the Apple A14 Bionic, at least when frame rates are taken into account.
Samsung Exynos (name to be confirmed) | Apple A14 Bionic | |
Manhattan 3.1 | 3.1 - 181.8 FPS | 3.1 - 146.4 FPS |
Aztec Ruins Normal Tier | 138.25 FPS | 79.8 FPS |
Aztec Ruins High Tier | 58 FPS | 30.5 FPS |
However, other GPU benchmarks are still missing as well as other factors to consider before giving the Exynos the crown. And it is worth noting that the Apple chip with which it is being compared has two generations; in addition to the fact that the overall performance of a mobile processor does not depend solely on the CPU or the GPU either, but on a combination of both, and two parts that come from different companies, could have some growth problems at least in the first iteration.
This without forgetting that, for the moment, these data are centered on a rumor as they are not currently available on the benchmark page itself.
Finally, this same source also adds the latest rumors about the possible arrival date of this new Samsung flagship chipset, pointing to date between the first and second quarters of this year. A date in which we could only currently place the Galaxy Z Fold3, for which a combination of mobile graphics from AMD had already been advanced to enhance its Exynos chipsets.
