At CES 2021 this week, Kensington unveiled the most feature-rich StudioDock iPad dock in the Apple Pro Display XDR style. It makes the tablet look like a small iMac. And it's not just about appearance.
The accessory is really extremely useful because its use allows you to forget about dozens of small adapters. On its body, there are as many as three USB-A connectors that can be used to connect peripherals, such as hard drives, flash drives, or keyboards. There is also HDMI 2.0 for connecting external monitors, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD card slot, and USB-C for connecting to a power supply. There is even a 3.5mm jack on the left side. StudioDock connects to iPad via USB Type-C. The leg of the device has two coils for wireless charging of two gadgets at the same time - one with a power of up to 7.5 watts, and the other up to 5 watts.
The company also introduced an additional accessory for charging the Apple Watch, which can also be attached to the StudioDock if desired. The device will be able to work with the iPad Pro family of 2018 and 2020, as well as the 4th generation iPad Air.
StudioDock is due to hit stores in mid-2021. Unfortunately, the price of the device has not been disclosed yet.
