Lantronix has partnered with Qualcomm to announce one of the first single-board computers based on the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor: a product called the Snapdragon 888 Mobile Hardware Development Kit aimed at developers creating various smart devices.
The solution has dimensions of 100 × 85 mm. The Snapdragon 888 chip contains one powerful Cortex-X1 core up to 2.84 GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores, and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. Graphics processing is occupied by the Adreno 660 accelerator.
Curiously, there is no mention of cellular support in the specifications of the single-board computer. But it says about the presence of adapters Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a / b / g / n / ac / ax) and Bluetooth 5.1, as well as an NFC controller.
The board carries 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 256 GB UFS 3.0 flash drive, and an optional microSD card can be installed.
Among other things, two M.2 connectors, a standard 3.5mm audio jack, two USB 3.0 ports, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port are mentioned. An HDMI 2.0 interface is used for image output.
For the novelty, auxiliary modules will be available. This, in particular, a 6.65-inch AMOLED WQHD touchscreen display (2340 × 1080 pixels). In addition, developers will be able to purchase a front camera module with a 20MP sensor and ToF sensor, as well as a quadruple rear camera unit containing 48, 16, and 13 million pixel components and a ToF sensor.
The price of a single board computer is $ 1349 without additional accessories.
